Did Anybody See Steve?

Did anyone notice that Steve posted a comment? It was succinct and profound too!

I've been showing our Alaska photos to people who come over. Nancy, a lady from our church, who has heard about Steve for years but never seen him, when she saw photos of him from the trip said, "That's not what I imagined him to look like at all. He's very distinguished looking."

I think everyone who has a computer is continuously testing and also trying to remember usernames and passwords or think up new ones that you won't forget.

A friend of ours who's a computer geek (Peter Olsen) gave me a piece of advice. I adopted it about three months ago.

1. For every time you need to create a password/PIN where the source is innocuous and has no ability to cause you trouble if known by others. . .use the same thing everytime and keep it simple, like your phone number followed by your initials.

2. For all the password/PINs that could compromise you in anyway. . .everyone should be unique and random, and the only way to do that is to keep a list somewhere of all top secret PINS and passwords.

I have such a list on our computer. If you gained access to it you could drain our bank accounts and rack up humongous bills in our name! But I can't begin to tell you how comforting it is and how many times I use it per week. The older I get, the less I trust my brain to store important data.

A side comment. Inspired by the secret list, I began adding to it all the numbers in our lives, Drivers Licenses, Credit Card Numbers, Social Security Numbers, Bank Accounts, Library Cards and on and on. I was amazed at how many numbers and passwords identify our lives.

And. . .again. . .I can't begin to tell me how many times I've used it and how comforting it is to know that the list is somewhere other than in my brain.

It isn't stories "they" have been circulating. It's stories "I" have been circulating. For all the mean things you did to me as a kid. Hahahahahaha!
