Catulpa Trees

Lois Ann was interested in our Catulpa Trees when she was down this summer. The leaves were barely beginning to sprout. They are odd trees in many ways. This is an average size leaf. Some get larger.

In the fall the leaves don't change color and they fall at the same time. One day the tree is green and the next they're on the ground. This is what our driveway looked like when Jonathan went to school on Monday.

And this is what it looked like when he came home from school.

That is interesting, Daniel. Isn't that the tree that has those long "nuts" hanging from it too? There's always something to learn!

This is a great set of photos. Amazing that all the leaves fall off at once without even changing color! Do you happen to know the exact day that the leaves fell off? It might be an indicator of the worst day for the stock market in October, which was the 10th this year.

Next year we should have a little round robin wager on what date it will happen and you could post a photo along with the winning guess.
