Jonathan Graduates

Jonathan is done and it was a great ending. His track team won the conference championship for the fourth year in a row. Their Ultimate Frizbee team finished third in state. Now he needs to find a job for the summer so he can help pay for his education at Gustavus this fall.

Other than that not much new here. Peter is still looking for a job. A few surveying possibilities emerged but they may not pan out.

Hey Mark, what are the job prospects in Alaska? Either boy, but especially Peter might be willing to take anything that paid a decent wage - given the current economic conditions.

We are having a tough time up here also. One positive is that oil prices are going up again. The new congress is anti-oil, so that is a negative. Here is the Alaska website for job searches http://jobs.state.ak.us/

One thing Christoffer did when he couldn't find work right away - He told the school he went to, and they talked to folks and found work for him.

The stock markets are going up again. They are stuck a little now at the 200 day moving average. Markets anticipate the future. Jobs are usually the last to come around when the economy goes up.

If the financials keep going up and the markets move above the 200DMA, then jobs will follow.

Here is some big news today that I think would need lots of surveyors.
http://www.adn.com/money/industries/oil/story/827548.html Exxon has decided to join Trans Alaska to build a $30B gas pipeline. It would be a good place to start searching.
