That's my 20" Columbia 3-speed Sting-Ray with yet-to-be-installed high-rise handle bars and banana seat. I'm pretty sure that was the best birhtday present I ever got. This is definitely the month of June. I'm guessing 1966.
that sounds about right. Notice that the Travaille's were visiting us? Tim is hiding there and also Laurie. I think I received my lovely 24 inch bike when I was 9 and I loved it. I rode it until I was married and then Ralph and I bought a new bike. Now it is adorning our back yard as yard art.
Mark has introduced a comment in the previous post that should cause us to pause. Paul, did you get that bike in 1965 before John married Ruth? Or was it 1966? I'm guessing 1966. But for the sake of posterity and the organization of the slides it is worth further consideration. Aha! Even as I'm typing this I'm thinking that Mark said there were five candles on his cake. I submit to you all. . .did Mark or did he not turn 15 in 1966? This would then be the summer after he won the soap box. . .right?
Mark would have been 16 in 1966. You ought to know that, Daniel! I would guess that Mark's birthday picture was taken the year of Mom's and Dad's marriage.
