I've been scanning old slides for a few weeks now. I suppose I should start posting some of them. This is from a large batch of 24 mm slides where the frames have no markings whatsoever. It's slow going as I have to do them individually and each one needs its own particular tweeking. Any comments you have may help in naming and filing organization.

Keep in mind that these pictures are "thumbnails" of the real scannings. Since I'm still on dialup I need to reduce the resolution greatly in order to get them posted.
I was going to ask how the scanning was going... As I think back to my time of scanning I'm thankful I didn't have my own scanner - there was a certain sense of urgency when I was using someone else's scanner. I'm quite sure I'd still be scanning if I had my own scanner.
For those of you who are wondering, I still plan on putting all the photos on CDs. First, I still need to convert most of them to jpegs. You can probably expect them for Christmas three years from now...
I recently bought an external hard drive, so now, even if this computer dies, I will still have all the pictures. That's a load off my mind. Dan, you may want to consider something similar.
Mark, I'm assuming that's Bo Conrad next to you. Who's the guy in the orange shirt?
I was wondering if the guy in the "red" shirt was Jerry Friest. I remember the face but can't put a name with him either. It looks like Mark is celebrating his 3rd birthday although I didn't enlarge the picture first. We must have been at 1711 yet.
Yes, it's a good idea to have an external hard drive.
OK smarty, who's the guy on the right?
I just make backups onto CD's or DVD's every half year or so.
the guy on the right is Daniel.
You guys need some thicker glasses like mine. There are 5 candles on that cake. That is Jerry Friest and Bo Conrad. Must be 7-7-1965.
It can't be 1965. I'm there and Mom and Dad married in the winter of 1966. Right? Or. . .now you've got me wondering. Could this have been the privious summer and the parents were still "wooing"?
