Here goes: top right, next to Grandma's left, facing camera,25.Leitha Pearson (not #17), to her left is 26. Shirley Julien, to her left, 27.Janet Julien, and 28.another Julien girl. (29 woops) Possibly,30 Mary Stauffer. 31.Stephen, behind Stephen, 32.Irv Stauffer. My guess, top left, seated with the white hat is our 33.piano teacher (I forget her name), then 34.Bill Laulo,35 Ruth Laulo, and to John Watkins left is 36. Adele Johnson, then 37 Sam Johnson. Lest we forget, my future father-in-law, 38 Leonard Carlson. I beg to differ with #'s 19 and 20. I think it's tall one son Austin's and other one David Watkins. I had to use a magnifying glass to identify people and compare numbers. That's enough for now. Wait, I forgot, those to women in uper left corner are older women not 22. Karen and 23.Carol.

Sorry, I didn't notice that Irv Stauffer and Leonard Carlson were identified.

I checked the postmarks and my names were placed at 9:38 and yours were 9:58, so I guess those names are mine. By the way, did you know that if you click on a picture it appears enlarged?

There are two parts of your naming I don't understand:

1. the 29-30 area where you said "woops Mary Staufer". Where is Mary? Are you saying the "other Julien girl" might be Mary?

2. Later on you say "tall one sons Austin". What does that mean?

I knew I could click on the picture and make it larger but I couldn't make it larger and also look at all the names that had been assigned to the numbers.

The little girl next to Janet is a Julien, too, but I don't know her name. The woman between Grandma and the Julien girl looked a little like Mary Stauffer. Number 19 is the son of Charles and Virginia Austin. I don't know his name, either. He is definitely not a Matthews son. I don't know why it popped into my mind yesterday but I remembered our piano teachers name was Ada Norquist.
Thank you all for coming to Josh's birthday party. I think he was surprised at all the people that were there. It was great to get outside again and have a barbeque.

Looks like Jean takes the lead. I'll calculate it in this evening. Just a warning here, I have found in my box of memories a SECRET WEAPON that will give me a GREAT ADVANTAGE! I hesitate to use it though since I am, afterall, the judge and jury of this contest. So I'll wait a few days. By the way, talking to Corinne Dee at Josh's party made me realize that she would be a great SECRET WEAPON. Her memory of those days and those people is razor sharp. For example, she instantly knew that Einer Hammerstrom's wife was Irene.

I'm giving number 19 to Jean. He is an Austin not a Matthews. I found Jean's argument very persuasive - "He is definitely not a Matthews son." How do you counter that?

OK, I should get some extra credit for suggesting that the men in suits on the left side must be from AT&T. I'll go another step and suggest that one of them is Rudy Lehto, Dad's boss, probably the one on the right with the big smile and his hand resting on the chair.

Another correction is in order. Dean, you ought to know that Dad worked at Northwestern Bell and not AT&T. Now I must look again at the picture and pick out Rudy Lehto. He was, after all, Dad's boss for quite a few years.I'll be back if I figure it out as I can't see the faces very clearly without enlarging it.

Rudy Lehto would have to be the man that is closest to Al Peterson with his back to Al. Rudy had lighter hair then any of the other men. Remember, it was curly, too. By the way, why is the handicapped symbol next to our word verification. Are we all handicapped, now?
