Steve and I have always considered the Alaska Years a sort of Golden Age.
A lot of that had to do with how well we meshed with the Lindman kids, Bob, Barbara and Mary. We were like one big extended family. I would guess I'm six years old here.
By the way. . .the trick I'm using that gets my photos uploaded without hitches is to reduce the size or resolution until the photo is around 100 kb and then upload.

Boy Steve, you sure were a lot taller than Dan!
how do you reduce the resolution?
I'm not the one to ask technical questions of. But. . .I have an eight year old version of Photoshop and all I know is that when I click "save a copy" it presents a window where I can slide a bar from High resolution to Low. But in general I would guess you can reduce resolution two ways: 1. by reducing the size of the image and 2. by keeping the size the same but reducing the pixels per square inch. This would, of course, have to be done in the context of a particular photo-editor.
There's a nifty little 'Power Toy' at http://snipurl.com/7r9b that allows one to reduce the size of an image or images with a right click of the mouse.
