When it's springtime in Alaska

We looked forward to spring breakup. A large pond formed in our backyard and us kids had a blast.

How far could you go in the boat, Stephen. You know we could make fun of Stephen because he may not defend himself very soon! With that cute hat I thought you looked like Barb or Mary from a distance. Did you guys travel in the bus or use it as a camper?

That's not our house. Dad is taking the picture with our house behind him. That's the house of Steve's friend, Pete Dean.
The memorable thing about that camper was it had an electrical short and whoever touched the ball joint would get a shock. But if you held the hand of someone and touched it, that person would get a greater shock than you. I remember one time we must have had a dozen kids out there holding hands to see what would happen.
The irony is that Pete Dean's dad was an electrician!

It's hard to find good lake property nowadays. Did you have any luck ice fishing?
