I will guess this was that hamburger place that had about 20 different hamburgers you could choose from. Now a days there are many resturants like that. But i think this one was a local Duluth business and not a franchise. Maybe they copied similar hamburger restaurants in other cities. At the time we thought it was pretty unique.
If i knew the different photo programs on this computer like Dan knows his, i would focus in on different clues like the large french fries and the big hamburger without the top on Dads plate on the left.
I do not know why some just have bowls. Maybe they had a salad or chili?
Ok. Step aside Mark and I'll show you how a pro does it. First clue: judging by the guy on the right near the window, smoking was allowed in this restaurant.
A-Rob is so close he can taste it...
Can somebody... anybody remember the name of this restaurant?
Aaargh. I still think it's Hooters. But if I'm to win the prize I suppose I must parrot the response Little Brother wants to hear. It is Somebody's House. An eating establishment near UMD created by a husband and wife team who were also faculty at UMD - the Ojacangus-es (I don't remember their first names). She was in Home Economics and he was in Geography. Alaska Robin says that these days this sort of restaurant is a dime a dozen, but I can't think of a place in the Twin Cities where the menu is almost exclusively 30 variations on the hamburger and especially the notorious "Dare Burger" which was a hamburger topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. What's my prize?
